Because computer gamers have no class, and we don't expect more from them? :-)
I don't have a particular problem with ultra-moders in and of itself. I can, though, understand how playing a game that depicts events that others have suffered through as a bit insensitive, and I don't think that it matters whether it is played on a computer on on a board. I am a bit queasy about the recent computer games that involve contemporary U.S. forces in the the Middle East (I think there's one out now involving a hypothetical U.S. invasion of Syria). Besides that game's insensitivity to U.S. (and other) forces currently in Iraq, media like that do us no favors in winning the "hearts and minds" battle.

Subject: [BGB] Ultra-modern gaming.
Hey all,
In the past, I have heard several historical miniature gamers express distaste for gaming very modern gamers saying that doing so is insensitive. In fact I've heard of a "15 year" rule. It hit me the other day though that computer gamers thrive on ultra-modern gaming simulations. Why should miniature wargaming be any different?
