Hey all;
Just read a message from John that this was their best turnout ever. They
raised enough money for all the kids hotel bill for Point Con in the Spring.
Great turnout and lots of stuff. Magic tourney courtesy of Steve Maynard from
"The Time Machine".
My LOTR Epic battle was a hit. Myself and another "more mature" player were
"the bad guys" with 7 kids commanding the forces of good. The Mameluke didn't
disappoint as it panicked and flattened a battalion of unfortunate Uruk-Hai.
Turn 7 and Frodo made it to the top of Mount Doom. He diced a 5 and from 5
paces his toss of " precious " missed forcing them to fight another turn. I
forgot my prop ring and, well, I only had one other gold ring available so I
made them swear to secrecy that if they see me with my wife in the grocery store
" I DID NOT USE MY WEDDING RING !".
Afternoon was a CD IV: Test of Battle game with myself and Pete O as Game
Masters. I used the new Battle Group "Benghazi Handicap" set up and it seemed to
 work well. Simple meeting engagement at around 500 points per player. It was
 designed to introduce the rules and went well.
Overall a great time and once again John Haskell is on the cutting edge of
providing some great stuff to kids.
Kudos' to John and the Ellis Tech Sim Club guys.
