Ooooh. Very tempting, Vic.
I can't make Friday, but I'd love to come down and play some other time if you're running.
Most of us (Mark Brown, Derrek, Bruce Carson, Tom, Jerry Lane, Brian G. and myself) were at Carnage this past weekend. I certainly had a good time - played in a Clear for Action game that was a lot of fun, though rather cocked against the French (on which side I played) A 1797 scenario pitting a British 44 and 50 (small SOL's) against 2 French frigates and 2 brigs. I also played a board game - "Here Stand I" - a geo-political game set in Europe during the Reformation (first half of the 16th Cent.) We brought Havoc flyers up with us, though we really need to schedule our club meeting and make sure that we have enough warm bodies to run Havoc this year. I suggest Sat. Nov. 17. I would run a game that day if there's enough interest.
BTW, isn't BGB's chat list at bgb at battlegroupboston.org rather than bgb at bgb.basespace.net ?

Well Pete O. did it again. He staged a spectacular game last Friday night that was so well received we went to midnight and stopped to resume this Friday.
Scenario: Well defended town held by Russian infantry with a sizable ( Regiment ) or Romanians emerging from the woods adjacent to the town. On the extreme left flank the Russian cavalry coming to the rescue ( T-34/85's led by a Panther Mk.V in Russian markings ) while on the opposite extreme the German cavalry coming to the rescue ( Mark IV's and Czech T-35's ). So far the only "brewed up" tank is one German Mk. IV "cooked" by a Russian Lend-Lease Valentine! ( That's a typical game of Pete O... you see things together you have never seen before). So this Friday night, start time 7:PM we resume the offensive. ( It's just getting interesting!).
We also play tested the new "testofbattle.com" air rules a la Bob Mackenzie. They are pretty good. Quick, easy, but like a good garnish they enhance the game without dominating it.
Hope you can join us.
Vic
