Yes, a bit.

Doesn't look so good.

They just did a peace deal with baijur, so it's the 3rd tribal agency to
be set up along the Waziristan accord.  Basically the federal government
of Pakistan ceding a lot of responsibility to the locals, which tend to
be (or tend to be dominated by, depending on who and what you read)
Taliban types.

Lot of the problems in Afghanistan are because the Taliban runs back
into Pakistan, just like when the soviets invaded, and because basically
now they have a free hand with the peace accords.

Pakistan still sometimes goes after them, but not much.  Very funny to
me considering the 'peace' still involves a lot of attacks on Pakistan
judges and the court system, as well as Pakistani politicians and even
musharraf at one point.
