[BGB] A Modest Proposal

Hi all,
I would like to formally present an idea Vic and I have been kicking around.
Most of you know of my being a partner in Total Confusion were I ran board
games. We have been through some staffing changes and reorganized, with
myself now coordinating miniature events (gasp!).
One of the things we have tried this year is gaining exposure by having a
distinct presence at other cons in the area. Signage, keeping our tables
adjacent, unique cloths on our tables, etc. It seems to be having some
impact.
What I propose is using Total for the same purpose for Havoc. A table or two
in the minis room reserved for games that will be at the following Havoc,
call it The Havoc Preview. It seems a win-win for Havoc. More people get to
see the kind of games we host, and GM's get to playtest their games at
Total, conveniently located only weeks before Havoc!
I am asking for volunteers to run games (thanks Vic!). I'm not necessarily
thinking all weekend but at least the peak time, Friday evening through
Sunday morning. Saturday at the least. Total tends to go heavier on Fantasy
and Sci-Fi (I already have a Battletech Tourney lined up) but more than one
person has mentioned the dearth of historical games.
I am also looking for ideas to promote Havoc during these games, something
like the event Vic and Pete put together at Sturbridge Village. Volunteers
for some of the prep work would be appreciated too (I'm already flat-out
here).
And please tell any non-BGBers you know who gm events.
Post ideas/comments here or call me if you want to talk details,
508-853-1770.
Thanks.
Gregg
