Hi All
I've been reading "Ivan's War: Life and Death in the Red Army, 1939-1945" by Catherine Merridale. Really an interesting look into the life of a Soviet soldier. One of the shocking number I read was in Russian tank crew casualties, according to this book, the Russians trained 400,000 tankers, over 300,000 where killed! 75% casualties, its as bad as a German Submainer.
Apparently, the tankers knew the odds, but felt honored to serve in tanks, the symbol of the Red Army.
