I had a fantastic time at this year's H'con. I give all the credit to
Sam Adams.
I agree with Rohn about the flea market. Every time I went I got great
deals on quality goods- Shellhole Scenic buildings for $35- 90
Britannia and Foundry 20mm winter Germans for $30- the Airfix Twin Otter
kit for my modern Africa games for $5- great deals. The wide aisles
were a treat.
The dealers hall was still the Mecca of products. Arsenal was clearing
out their Cromwell Combat Ready at 30% off so I ended up getting 13 kits
or so. The new craze in Pulp figs is generating some fantastic work.
Nic Robson's Eureka was still at the cutting edge of the lunatic fringe
with new warrior frogs and turtles. Marty and I are planning on putting
together a game featuring his range next summer.
I ran 4 games over the course of the show. Modern Africa on Thursday,
US/Japanese naval night action on Friday as a pick up game, and Super 61
is Down on Saturday twice. All went very well.
I couldn't give a rat's ass about the board squabbles, but hell, I even
had a good time at the Fall In in Timonium.
